in-the-quiet-house: ratak-monodosico: Mark Rothko, Green Over Blue, 1956 I had a giant Rothko poster (this one) in my sublet on Elizabeth Street in NYC in 2002. This was another life, one where I was home for the summer between trips to Tokyo and Milan. I was doing strange things with my money in that life, like installing an air conditioner in that sublet apartment, which means I donated an air conditioner to that sublet apartment. I was also buying things like Marc Jacobs shoes that I still have but can’t wear because they’re not so much shoes as they are meat grinders for your feet. Mostly I use money to buy time now. And I try not to think about how much of both I wasted in that other life. At least I got all of that out of my system. It’s not as cute being a mess in your 30s.
